Preference Poem

The Preference poem was about a man of stereotypical thinking of young women always asking for something, and older women are more helpful. For example in the poem he says "I like women six or eight or ten years older than myself" which shows that his preference is older women. He thinks that they will be more helpful in anything that he needs help with because they are older and with a little more experience. He thinks that older women will be more appreciative of him and not the materialistic things.
In the poem, he says " young girl will say Daddy, I want so-and-so"  which means that he thinks that all younger women are always in a man's pockets. I think that he thinks this because younger people are more financially unstable than older people. The author thinks that a young girl always needs something maybe based off his own experience with a younger girl. His thoughts is based off what he said in the poem that older women will make money and bring it home to him.
Overall, I think the poem is very stereotypical. Age isn't nothing but a number and everyone is not the same. I feel as if you can't judge a group based off your experience with one person. Everyone has their own way of doing things, own thoughts, and way of life. Stereotypes are not the way to go. I feel as if younger women always being in a man pockets is a stereotype because every young woman is not in a man's pockets because it is not always about the money.
